I’ll be asking questions of
and . Ross is an experienced analyst of the NYC political scene and writes prolifically about it. Sachi has led a successful project to connect volunteers with various campaigns in the upcoming NYC primary on Tuesday.“All politics is local” is a well-worn cliche because it’s true!
The race for the NYC Democratic Mayoral primary is a fascinating one. The two leading contenders are Andrew Cuomo, 67 years old, who resigned as governor over various scandals and who has received heavy support from the New York establishment and Zohran Mamdani, a 33 year old running an insurgent, youth vote oriented campaign.
I have many questions.
Is this a generational-harbinger election pitting a Boomer against a Millennial, the weight of money against youthful enthusiasm?
What’s it like volunteering inside these campaign?
It’s supposed to be 100 degrees on Election Day; what will be the effect?
Why is it important/gratifying to be involved in local politics vs. national politics?
Does this election have national implications or do we New Yorkers just think NYC is more important than anywhere else?
Sunday June 22nd 2:00 pm EDT, join us to hear answers.
