Just fabulous! I love the unapologetic “bad” behavior. I once danced a tango (never learned) completely blotto. The narrator’s lack of insight is also very funny!
The vomit is almost a welcome image! How fun to play with the unexpected in these scenes. Music is always a welcome metaphor and allusion. Beautiful story of the difficulties of navigating relationships (and the power/desire dynamic of being a groupie!).
Anna. I have to stop reading rather than my banal writing attempts. You definitely capture my attention . Haven’t been drunk enough to upchuck in eons but some times people make me feel vomit in the middle of my throat!
Hahahaha I loved this read. I feel like it caught so many universal truths / experiences along the rollercoaster of dating / falling in love / confusion.
I loved this: "I always forget about Men’s Feelings because I’m too busy worrying about mine. It never occurs to me except in retrospect that maybe I wasn’t always on the verge of being rejected, maybe the guys involved were feeling things too and maybe they were just slow or confused or, let’s face it, hopelessly cloth-headed."
Hi, Anna. Reading your exhilarating work makes me happy, even when you’re writing about barf and bad choices.
Thanks so much, Rona

Thanks Miriam. A (mostly) fun ride, for sure

love this post - and for the reminder that men have feelings too!
"But that was before I knew about the Hidden Depths." Weeeeeeeeeee... that was something!
