Really nice put-together statement. My brother and I, raised with the same privileges, turned in opposite directions politically: I strong liberal, he strong conservative. And we baffle each other!

Of course genetics plays a role in attributes but to attribute biases to genetics in isolation seems like a stretch to me

I also hold Cheeto von Tweeto in contempt and feel that he’s literally America’s worst person for specifically the reasons you do. Noblesse oblige and all. Regardless, however, I do believe he came by his character defects honestly. Trump wasn’t raised with integrity, generosity, gratitude, or humility. Fred Trump was racist and dishonorable. He rewarded Donald with love and position for bullying his brother; he taught him that cheating was proper by paying people to take his SAT for him. Family values that rewarded winning above virtue, might above right. Trump may have had oodles of financial advantages, but really poor parenting that made him who he became.

Thanks Zach.

Being a parent is a big responsibility. You are shaping at least one if not many future generations.

I'm guessing Fred Trump was not the type to take parenting classes!

The show Succession does a good job in showing how bad parenting leads to flawed kids.

As does Game off Thrones' Twyin Lannister!
